VFMC Announces New Director

The Chairman of Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC), Mr James MacKenzie, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Maria Wilton to the Board of VFMC.

“This appointment deepens the strong commercial and public sector experience of the Board. In particular, Ms Wilton brings contemporary investment management expertise and insight,” said Mr MacKenzie.

Ms Wilton has a thirty year history in the investment industry with leadership experience in asset management and superannuation. Ms Wilton is the former Managing Director and Chair of Franklin Templeton Investments Australia where she was responsible for the Australian and New Zealand businesses of Franklin Templeton. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Ms Wilton was with BT Financial Group (formerly Rothschild) and County Investment Management where she was a diversified fund and fixed income portfolio manager. Prior to working in asset management, Ms Wilton was in economic research for the Commonwealth Treasury.

Ms. Wilton is Deputy Chair Infrastructure Victoria, Chair Industry Advisory Board of the Australian Centre of Financial Studies, a Member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Advocacy Council, and National Chair of the CFA Society Diversity Committee. Previously, she was a director of various public authorities including Emergency Services and State Super, Melbourne Water, Victoria Legal Aid and the Transport Accident Commission.

VFMC is responsible for the investment of over $60 billion for Victorian public authorities. Clients include the Emergency Services and State Super, WorkSafe Victoria, Transport Accident Commission, and the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority.
