The Chairman of Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) Mr. James MacKenzie is
pleased to announce the appointment to the Board of VFMC of Ms Paula Benson and Ms Lisa
Gay.
James MacKenzie commented “the new directors deepen the strength of VFMC’s Board in
financial services and funds management and VFMC welcomes the additional skills and
insights Ms Benson and Ms Gay will bring in the area of corporate and social responsibility. ~
Ms Benson is a leading corporate affairs executive and non executive director with experience
in financial services, media, resources, and the education sector. Ms Benson’s most recent
executive role was with National Australia Bank as Executive General Manager Corporate
Affairs and since 2010 she has chaired Ovarian Cancer Australia.
Ms Gay has extensive financial services experience in funds management, investment
banking, and broking. She holds a number of non executive director roles in the private, public
and not for profit sectors. Ms Gay is currently Chair of the Australian Securities and Investment
Commission’s Markets Disciplinary Panel, non executive director Koda Capital and a member
of the Council of Trustees of the National Gallery of Victoria. Ms Gay was formerly General
Counsel and Managing Director of the Goldman Sachs Group Australia, as well as its
predecessor JB Were & Son.
VFMC is responsible for the investment of over $50 billion for Victorian public sector clients
including the Emergency Services and State Super, WorkSafe Victoria, Transport Accident
Commission, and the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority.
