Lisa Gay appointed as new VFMC Chair

The Treasurer of Victoria, Tim Pallas, announces the appointment of Lisa Gay as the new Chair of Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC), effective 23 November 2023.

Lisa Gay was appointed as a Director of the Board in May 2016 and has been Acting Chair of VFMC following the retirement of former Chair, James MacKenzie in August 2023. “On behalf of the Executive team and our people at VFMC, we extend our congratulations to Lisa on her appointment as Chair. We look forward to continuing our work with Lisa who brings enthusiasm, knowledge and great expertise to the role of Chair,” said Ms Kate Galvin, Chief Executive Officer of VFMC.

Lisa is a highly regarded legal and compliance professional with financial services experience in funds management, investment banking and stockbroking. She is a non-executive director of Computershare Limited and Koda Capital, and a member of the Council of Trustees of the National Gallery of Victoria and Board Member of Fed Square. Lisa was formerly Deputy Chair of the Indigenous Land Corporation, Chair of Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, Chair of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission’s Markets Disciplinary Panel and a non-executive director at Interim Melbourne Arts Precinct Board. From 1990-2010, Lisa was General Counsel and Managing Director of the Goldman Sachs Group Australia and its predecessor JBWere & Son.
